House Insurance for Exchange - condition of Offer

Hi All,
I did do a quick search but nothing came up.
My solicitor today made me aware of special conditions in my Mortgage offer.
1, Clear HP finance & Credit card (approx 3k) - DONE
2, Buildings Insurance upon Exchange of Contracts
Obvious question but do I just set up a policy in my name and send the insurance certificate to my Solicitor?
Of course I will ask him on Tuesday but I thought I would check that this was the case
Cheers

You really need this in case there is a storm or a fire or something. You don't want to pay all that money, then by the time you get home from collecting the keys end up owning a nice expensive pile of ashes and no way to get it fixed.[STRIKE]Original Mortgage 07/07 £160000 LTV 100% [/STRIKE]Remortgaged 10/13 £118000 LTV 84%

Dont do too many, they may do credit checks on you. Just get a quote and a policy in force. Once you complete you can then change if you like without fear of credit checks knocking your score.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. chek your credit report - I bet you will see a bunch of credit checks.
Most of them are likely to be soft footprints so will cause no harm but some may be full on credit checks.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Insurance quotation checks generally don't count as credit checks
