Unemployment cover whilst on probation

I completed a house purchase last month and I am now moved in. At the time I was thinking about getting unemployment cover, but I did not think it was worthwhile because my job is relatively secure.
I was offered another job today. Would I still be entitled to unemployment cover if I accepted the job and started a probation period? I have not yet decided if I will accept.
I have been with my current employer for five years and I would earn more salary with the new employer. It is the same line of work.
