How far back can you claim

When we applied for our first mortgage in 1977, I was told that I wouldn't be offered a mortgage unless I took out life insurance with an insurance agent I was introduced to at the building society. I had to go to the house of the agent to sign the insurance agreement. Can I claim mis-selling?

Can I claim mis-selling?
No.
1 - Its nearly 30 years prior to insurance regulation and over a decade prior to financial services regulation
2 - PPi did not exist in 1977. it was probably life assurance and lenders are allowed to insist on any insurance they like.
3 - The insurance agent is unlikely to be around nowadays (not that they would need to consider a complaint made by you anyway).
4 - You havent given any indication of any wrongdoing.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
