Council Tax rebanding and refund

The system works, and quite easy to do. Found out that my next door neighbour was in band D, mine E in April. Followed the guidlines from MoneySavingExpert in writing/email and initially turned down.
Went back to Valuation Office with more evidence and asking for their proof that I should be in Band E under the Freedom of Information Act, hey presto, they relented.
This week I got conformation from the Council that I will get back the difference since buying the house in 1996 and this amounts to £4086, and I will save £350 based on current tax in future years.
Get your evidence right and persevere, it`s well worth it!
