Thanks for some ideas, I'm really fussy when it comes to lunch I get bored really easy of the same thing I like to have something different every day, I go off things really easy like one day I can like eggs the next day I won't so it's given me some ideas on what I can have for lunch too :)

I've only ever had hoummos (sp) when I've been to a tapas restraunt so not sure what shop bought stuff is like is it the same?

    Thank you

How about hard boiled eggs? . And some healthy crudities type sticks of coloured peppers , carrot, celery, cucumber with a sweet chilli sauce drip. You could store the small amount of chilli sauce needed in one of those Shippams spread lidded jars which is easily washed out and reused.

Houmous is delicious! But the shop bought stuff is quite calorific due to the large amounts of tahini paste they use.

You can make your own easily, plenty of recipes online. It's mostly chickpeas with flavouring.

my OH takes a very boring lunch every day - he eats in the van. he takes two ham sandwiches (wholemeal bread no butter or spread), an apple and a banana and sometimes he goes mad and takes a slice of homemade banana bread or fruit cake!
he does like to vary things by just taking boiling water in his flask. he keeps a Tupperware box in the van with teabags, sweeteners, powdered milk, (and he also takes some fresh milk in one of those insulated cups), coffee granules in a little plastic pot, some Bovril cubes and some sachets of cuppasoups. (the last two mainly in the winter). he could take pot noodles or pot rice but he isn't keen on them.
its not very healthy I don't think - but a vast improvement on the Pies and Pasties he was buying!
