Interest free Credit

Rippedoff Posts: 13 Forumite
9 months ago I purchased a computer from Evesham-I took advantage of a 9 months interest free credit loan. The loan is due to be paid off on 24th July.

I received a letter from the credit company on 13th June advising me of the due date and telling me I could pay by credit card, debit card or cheque.

I rang up to pay off the loan with my credit card and they refused to accept a credit card-only a cheque, cash or debit card.

I pointed out that one of their credit managers had recently sent me a letter outlining the options. They refused point blank to accept a credit card payment.

Fortunatley I can pay with debit card but what about the individual who rings up two days before only to be told he cannot pay by credit card-if he cannot raise the cash immediatley he falls into a massive interest trap.

Anyone else experienced this ?
