Hello all, I am not much of a cook. Im hoping you clever people can help. This is what I have
2 lovely fat tuna steaks [bought greatly reduced today
need to use tomorrow]
tray of ready prepared 'Mediterranean veg' includes onions, courgettes and cherry tomatoes to go in oven
all the above need using asap
I though I could just cook tuna [grill ? I dont know advise please], and oven bake the veg but will it work and will it need something extra.
Also any ideas what works well with spinach for later in the week. Thanks

I like my tuna really well cooked. But you could just season it up and lightly fry it in a little oil in a very hot pan. You could even stirfry those veg while the tuna rests after cooking and use the same pan, if you don't want to put your oven on. Simple and quick.
Or you could put the tuna on some foil that has been brushed with a bit of butter or oil. Season it I like a fair bit of black pepper and wrap up and bake in oven for about 20 mins. You can put the tray of veg in at the same time.
Spinach makes a good stuffing for spinach and riccotta lasagne or can be used in eggs Benedict.
I like spinach gently steamed. Put over smoked haddock, topped with a little grated cheese and baked. Sometimes with a poached egg on top.0 -
Roast the veg with olive oil, herbs and garlic - yummy!0

Tuna is one of the few things I fry these days. I like it cooked through (as opposed to raw inside like the tv chefs do it) and find frying does it just to my liking. Exact timing depends on the thickness of the steaks.
Agree with roasting the veg, in my case with olive oil, lots of rosemary and garlic. Mmm I can almost smell it cooking!! To accompany it some lovely crusty bread for wiping your plate afterwards!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
If you think they lack a part of the meal, what about slicing some new potatoes and adding them to the med veg mix?0

Use a griddle pan on the hob to lightly cook the tuna. Serve with garlic butter.0
