Debit card advice please.

Heya,

I have a problem. most of my purchases are (were) done on the internet. but I lost my switch card when my current account was closed when i entered my dmp.

I recently applied for a mycashplus card so I could continue paying for the stuff online. however, the problem Im having is topping the card up, the post office is closed when I finish work and the queues are too long at lunch (i litterally stood in one all lunch the other day and had to come out to get back to work). The other option is to look at a paypoint shop again the nearest one thats open after work is two bus journeys there and two back. They don't do a online top up scheme.

I have looked at a Virgin card but they will only let you pay online with a debit card details.

What I want to know is there a bank or building society that is willing to let me have a current account and debit card (switch or solo) with a very bad credit history. (I have 2 CCJ's and am one a dmp).

Im currently with the Coventry (have asked them but they refused) and I have HSBC and Natwest Accounts on my DMP.

Any help would be really gratefully received.

Emma

    Hi

There is a stickie on the Bankruptcy sub board about debit cards that are OK even in those situations. Think all three offer an easier deals than you have at the moment.

    Hi

Try the co-op basic account you have to call them to apply but they are very good and quick. They have an electron card and a fantastic online banking facility which I can tell you Lloyds don't.

    Also

I only had a cashcard for a year which meant i could only buy things that accepted paypal, i have to say this is a great way of curbing spending which is a good thing it really makes you question your spending decision.
