I can't believe it, it's my wedding anniversary today and my mum has been asking me for weeks what we want and shes just rung and told me as I've not told her what to get she's put some money in my account to go towards the car. Just checked my account and she's deposited £500! I could cry!!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

Thanks everyone

Although if my mum knew the extent of debt I've been in in the past I'm not sure she'd be as generous with the money  luckily we've dragged ourselves out of the debt pit and can almost see daylight!
Thanks again all, all I need is for the garage to ring with more bad news...no stop the bad thoughts, a weight has been lifted

Thanks Angela & Peter,
The garage that's fixing it has just rung me and said as I'm 3000 miles away from 80k they would suggest that I also have the cam belt changed as it's not been changed before, another £95 but as I had a Micra a few years ago and the cam belt snapped and I had to scrap the car I figured it's a good idea, so holiday money gone down from £100 down to £5, gotta laugh huh!
As part of removing the head the cam belt is removed and all the algining/timing has to be done as a matter of course. an honest garage should only charge for the part plus maybe an aditional % to cover the order.
try to push them with this.0 -
