    How far off 6 months are you?

    You might be able to make an application and just get to exchange but then complete on the 6th month. Although that would only work if you are say a month or 2 away. If you are 5 away then its a bit awkward.

    That's what we want to do as are happy with our existing mortgage offer but wondered whether there would be a risk of losing the property if someone could get it done quicker. It seems they can so may be best to look into it further and cover ourselves. Thank You.

    They can, but there are not many lenders for it. It would also mean higher rates for 2 years... just because someone can do it, does not mean they will.
