The most important thing here that we have been trying to tell the OP in a round about way is that he will NOT have to find £6k.
The amount he will have to find is £6k LESS what the dealer (or someone else) buys it for.0 -

But that's the deal to which you agreed. The car has depreciated while you've had it, and will have depreciated by more than your payments, so you need to find the difference if you wish to leave the deal.
As others have said, that may be less than £6k if you can find a higher bid for the car, but it is unlikely to be zero.0
