Does anyone know if you can iron curtain nets? I am in the process of washing my curtain nets (pre-soak in Steradent :rotfl:) and one set, even though I hung them wet are very creased.
They are from John Lewis, called Penang and are like thin white voile with no patterns on, I seem to remember them being pure nylon when I bought them but I don't want to fry them
Any tips appreciated

I wouldn't iron them directly, I'm always unlucky with things like that lol ... but maybe you could try putting a towel over and ironing them through that?0

I would have thought they will be difficult to iron on the basis if the iron is cool you won't get the creases out, and if its hot, they'll melt!
You could try soaking a teatowel well in water and putting it on top of the net curtain, then ironing the teatowel on a fairly high heat. This might work, but perhaps try on a tiny bit of the curtain which you could afford to lose before proceeding?0 -
I've only got one net curtain in the house, but I do iron that one. As its been said you need a cool iron. Go carfully though0

DH admitted to me after I posted that he had ironed them in the past without telling me so I will give that a go....... No idea why he kept it a secret0

I was told years ago the method to wash nets, is to take them down carefully and fold them neatly, then hand wash them this way, you have to fold them to the approx size of your bowl/sink. Lift out and let drain and hang immediately. So far this has worked for me.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
I had voile nets and I used to wash them in the machine and hang them folded, dripping on the line and then just give them a quick iron with a coolish iron if they need it.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0

I wash my nets fold them put between a towel and roll it up to get the water out then i hang them back up the window damp so that they dry straight. Has never been a problem have always done it as my mum has and her mum before her. Would never dream of ironing them though.Still TryingGrocery challenge July 2016
