  • Nenen,

Yeah, my tv license will be higher in my first 6 months, because I cancelled my direct debit I have to start from scratch, so to speak because my 6 month in advance from my direct debit let me go 6 months without paying recently so i have to build it up again by paying on the cash card.

My car insurance is so high because I am 26 and don't have any no claims bonus due to this being my first full year of insurance and i had a crash 4 years and 10 months ago.

My £19 medical is my contact lenses and i have tried cheaper and they are really no good as I work in a highly air conditioned environment for very long shifts and these are the only ones that get me through the day even with using drops in others.

I will take a look at that food thread, thank you, i definitely know this is something we can save on and have been trying, but I'm sure we could be a lot more frugal in this department.

    mrsd1984,

See above about my car insurance and food bills.

I don't use my iPad data, I only use it in the house, but i pay monthly for the actual device which is almost paid for. Also, I am on a contract with virgin for our home phone and internet so when that ends in 3 months time i will get a better deal.

    Chopinonabudget,

I do receive it, but don't, I was apparently over paid for some reason so I'm getting £1 a fortnight for 8 months while it pays for my overpayments.
  • I'm really sorry to hear that, I don't know if there's anything you can do to get them to spread the overpayments over a longer period, that seems terribly unfair :(

In our house, when things break, we just pretend they still work
  • ChopinonaBudget, I know I asked that but they said no. It was because I was off work sick receiving statutory sick pay and I let them know when I received my first paycheck and not the day I started back in work. If i would have told them the day i went back to work, then i would have not had money for rent, bills or food so i had no other choice.
