I have given very nice copies of karma sutra as wedding presents before.
Goddaughter already has a case of beer to prop her door open with.
Unfortunately I want to give the sort of things they will have forgotten or run out of quickly. Face wipes would be good to add I have some glitchy ones somewhere. GD friend who is already there is captain of rugby team so she will have a very good social life. Both nieces will get regular envelopes of moc ect.

When I read the first line… I did not even have to look at who had posted it…. I just knew it was VT!

I think it is a lovely thing to do.

Anything toiletry the face wipes will be great for the night out
    toilet rolls
    Emergency bar of chocolate
    Razor
    drawing pins
    Ribena (great for hang overs)
dressing up clothes - beach and school uniform seem popular, I also sent mine with a sheik's outfit and a morph suit..:D
spare toothbrushes (for the overnight visitor)
    mouth wash
loads and loads of tea towels and dish clothes……they never have enough!
note pads (non of my kids ever suggested taking a note pad to uni)

My youngest is studying at Loughborough. I gulped at the cost of the gym membership but he tells me it's a good deal.

Poss add Febreze, air fresheners, scented candles to yr list?

air fresheners I have, thank you. Not sure they are allowed candles in rooms.
Yes gym membership is very good price as one of best in country. Under £8 a month plus actually a 4 year course as away one year so covers 4 years.

My sisters idea is oh she can just go shopping when she gets there but you never remember everything in first shop. Might add toilet brush (no gavin and stacey jokes nerfy:eek:).

They say there is a fine line between being clever and being totally thick…. well this was a group of lads who totally forgot the but about being clever!

I think they have toilet brushes in the accommodation

I do think that it is lovely to send them with everything they need (it was part of my grieving process) DS2 has never bought any toiletries or cleaning products in 3 years!

I occasionally sent him a home delivery with some special things in (usually when I am missing him)

    Brain shrinking moment…

    or maybe just the Pimms!

Can someone confirm whether 1000 is £10, which I can x3

    TIA

Can x4. But, having said that, looking at 'days out' places, it's all the same places now as we've been before. Only a few per region - unless we start travelling miles and miles away (and that isn't money-saving!). Trouble is, of the £10 voucher, the ones I can go (there's just 2 of us) are about £4 admission, so no good as would be losing part of the £10 (and I counted the amount I'd spent in T as being quadrupled:eek: - so, if I start doing that, I'm losing money). One place is more expensive but then cuts its admission charge to below £4 later in the day (and is open a lot longer beyond then too), so no point going earlier, to simply pay far more beyond the £10 in the first place. Another place - we haven't been - the admission charge for a single person is almost twice £10 in the first place!:eek::eek: Don't think we're going there (still too expensive even with the £10 off).

Same with my Morries miles thing - we so rarely fill up with petrol there (besides it's rarely the cheapest) that I'm still nowhere near enough to get merely £5 off, after several years. It's so bad that I've given up with it now. I don't buy fuel from Morries for it anyway - just if I'm already getting it, it's an 'extra' but doesn't attract me - it's much easier finding a £5 womble from A. Or even just the fruit & veg. thing.

I'm not getting the £20-odd item just for (potentially) £40 worth of vouchers, as I know it won't work out that way - it'll be delayed for months, awaiting next CC statement, and then :mad:they always find some way where I can't redeem to a straight amount without having too many CC points left over that then draws you back in again to try to reach the next 150 points. It's like drawing teeth - and I know lots of the rest of you here do it far better than me! (For example, I 'quintupled' up last time - from £2 to £10 as a special. I had £5 worth of CCs - the other £3 went on a special promotion (carefully checking that, compared to the paid-for admission cost, it wasn't going to do me out that much - it was about the same actually, quintuple for the £2 then about 3.5 times as much for the £3. Otherwise, I'd have been quintupling 2x £2, but that then would have left me with £1 of CCs that couldn't redeem against anything (except useless in-store redemption against something a quarter of the value of what I'd paid to get them - and, ideally, I wouldn't have paid anything at all), would have been carried over and then, as below £1.50, would have given me nothing at all unless I'd spent yet more with T in order to get 50 CC points - and there is no way I am spending nearly £50 in order to get that;)).)

Does someone here know the rotation of the offers in the T CC scheme? Or can keep an eye (as I'm trying to do but I'll inevitably miss it) to see when a good promo. goes on? I was thinking of £2.50 towards Odeon, but then that would leave me with an odd number having to quadruple up (and then the same carryover problem or, rather, trap into which I am not falling, for next time). There's no way I am getting a second 'special promotion' voucher (even though it would make sense, with two of us - ah, forget it, my companion can pay full cost themselves, other people are not my business, especially as they don't always take my MS guidance), as the special promotion is no longer on and they now want £4.50 for that same thing:eek:. I'm waiting till the £3 is back on. And not too happy with £2.50 to £10 either, since last time it was £2. It just shows how expensive it is the number of CC points they now want you to have to exchange to get what I got much cheaper (in CC point terms) before(:rotfl:). If I pay full price (in CC points) for a one-day admission, I'll be out of pocket (bearing in mind I only buy from T when the number of points I get back, as least when quadrupled, is the same or (preferably) more than the amount I am paying them - sadly I'm nowhere near any of those T APG stores). I'm sure these offers will rotate - any idea, anyone, of how long to wait till the next special ones?
