That point about Sains. comparing to slightly different size brands elsewhere was from Which? online, which I did link to many months ago, I can't find where it was right now, but said that it did do this even though it isn't stated in the T&Cs. Indeed, the T&Cs state the precise opposite:mad: - so how are we supposed to know?!?:rotfl:

    Instead I've now found this:

    http://conversation.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/cheapest-supermarket-price-match-asda-sainsburys-tesco-ocado/

Some points raised by commenters to this here - including several from last October:eek:.

I'd just pick two, one from 26 October 2013 at 1.23, the other 27 October 2013 at 1.10am. Fortunately (phew!!), as don't want detailed analysis from me on every single one of them:eek:_pale_.

First one suggests the more you buy the more chance things have of offsetting each other. That seems quite true - doubtless it's why they all have minimum number of items nowadays and require a 'basket' of shopping. Of course they do not give the cheapest price of any competitor on every item - they'd never be able to make money that way - unless you buy very carefully like we do.

We notice it on wombles - to some extent, the minimum 8 item ones can be best as they are less likely to have some aberrant item bought that's way more expensive elsewhere (and it could be a different item vs each competitor) that loses all voucher. The longer receipts though can give more, if similar prices on all comparable items throughout - simply because the more items adds to the 10% difference (as long as not some or a lot with significantly higher prices elsewhere).

The other comment is about how Sains. allegedly "con people out of money in their Brand Match". It says that if you buy a reduced item they compare vs full price elsewhere, such as a whoopsied Warburton's fruit loaf. Ah:idea: - but, you see, I never buy a reduced branded item on a BM shop (apart from the fact I've now not done a BM shop at all in expensive Sainsbobs for some time:rotfl:) - if I do, I buy the reduced Rankin product at pence, that is not sold by Asda, when I am doing an Svs A comp. Play the system, boy, play it!;) You have to play the game, work by the rules of the game, and buy nice cheaper items but only where they are non-comparables against your "chosen competitor". :rotfl:I'm positive that the "chosen competitor" concept is a concept that itself is lost on the public generally's shops! They do not have any such concepts in mind:rotfl::D(and :T as the whole schemes would not work unless most people did not).

I will certainly second that experience!

And..above, I've certainly now written a long posts about something I wasn't originally going to write about, whilst still not getting to dealing with the plums!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
