Possibly the answer to what to do about the sun tommorow if we do need to be a couple of coupes, is to pay for your shop and then take the front pages off and ask the till person to bin them - then you don't need to take them home with you

Or - why should we pay for a Sun like that that is totally disrespectful to whom might see it and have to ask for that to happen? Anyway, the Poundland one I'm afraid doesn't interest me.

I thought it was wrong when the Guardian printed, on its front page, the image of Saddam Hussein's last moments. I wished to avoid seeing that image at all and actively took steps to do so whenever it came onto the TV (with pre-warning). I could not do so when I encountered it in a shop. Arguably that was more justified for the Guardian to print on front page than the Sun now. But I still thought the Guardian was wrong - fortunately I no longer remember the image from the Guardian or have it in my mind. Interesting discussion about public interest vs responsibility though and the psychological effects it might have on some people if they don't want to see it. Anything could cause (or trigger) PTSD though. It's not thought about, and does it make it right? (It's not that, in objecting to seeing Saddam Hussein's death, I in any way am supporting anything he did or supported when he was alive.)

Anyway, this (the acceptability or unacceptability of newspaper front pages) is a debate for elsewhere I feel... and onto chicken fillets and other such nice things instead now:):).

I don't think you can take fresh food back? You could use the excuse that it smells funny so you bought the whole batch back.

Or you could eat it ;)

Difference of opinion. Thanks for the interesting thought you've both made me have about the matter tonight

Not that anywhere ever did anything when lots of things were played out, continually and constantly repeatedly over several separate instances, across lots of supermarkets and public places that I thought was completely wrong. Really I think that was (and still is) a total lack of respect to me, and I don't see why any organisations should be any different from the behaviour of any private individual who did the same thing in that respect. Anyway, I've been got onto this...and moving back on now:cool:! I think the more you think you think something is wrong, the more it physically affects you and upsets you whilst the person doing the behaviour doesn't give a jot at all about it and is completely fine:(.

It's a sad state of affairs but sadly a reflection of our society today. Even the news channels have shown the footage from which that picture was taken :( there will be no regard for the families wishes.

I have mixed feelings about that. I can see the families side, but on the other hand atrocities like this can't and should never be hidden away from the public because in the end, it will probably be public pressure that gets something done about it.

As an aside......there is a bill being rushed through parliament that will likely make the viewing of that awful footage unlawful. God forbid anyone reading this would ever want to watch it, but I'm just saying :(

Ok I know this is off topic but a serious question now :D

When you go to hang the washing out - line or whirly gig - is it a job you do on your ownson or do you take your partner with you, a sort of group or communal activity?

( that is your OH or your beloved - not the cat or dog that follows you all day anyway or your offspring that you dare not let out of your sight incase they get up to something)

I am confused… what the heck is 'hanging washing out' I throw the dirty clothes on the floor and they b magic get wash, dried, ironed and hung back up!
