hide 'updates available'

How can I hide 'updates available' that keeps popping up on my screen. This continually happens even after I have allowed the updates and is very annoying.

Can you be more specific about what the popup message says?

If its WindowsUpdate, you have 2 options that i can think of...
    1) Update and restart your PC if it prompts you
    2)Start>Settings>ControlPanel>System>AutomaticUpdates
Select a setting from there... I suggest you select "Automatic"... although you may recieve a box once a month (or less) asking you to restart your PC

    Hi, Skiddy2k

I tried your suggestion but this does not seem to have worked; the box still comes up:

    Top line UPDATES AVAILABLE
Under this would you like to run Liveupdates now to
    download the available updates
    Then YES NO

If I say yes and download, it still comes up about an hour later and so on. It is driving me mad and I can't find how to get rid of it.

    "Liveupdates"?

Are you sure you don't mean LiveUpdate? That sounds like a Norton problem rather than Windows updates. One thing that can trigger this problem is something as simple as the PC Date set wrong! Otherwise uninstall LiveUpdate and reinstall it from the Symantec website.
