Remortgage Advice after Relationship Breakdown

Hi all, I have a re-mortgage with candg which is in mine and my ex's name. I've been paying it for the past few months. I am wondering whether to phone them and ask for his name to be removed, as I also want to remove his name from the deeds (ex has agreed to this).
I am thinking they may not agree as I do not earn a wage. I get tax credits, income support and carers allowance. I do work in a charity shop for a couple of mornings a week but that is voluntary.
The other option is to try and pay it off early - it has about 18mths to run. I phoned them last week and it will cost £8800 to pay it off. I have not got that much to hand but I could afford an extra £200 per mth. I am not sure if they would let me pay that much extra without being penalised.
Any advice about what to do will be greatly appreciated.

I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:

Your best option maybe to let the existing mortgage run it's course. Then deal with the legalities of ownership.0
