c/card debt

Hi I am on a debt management plan and only have credit cards to pay back, we are trying to sell the house, my husband doesn't know about my debts, will I be forced to pay back the debts ?do credit card companies make you pay back when you sell up if you have been having trouble paying them. I have no loans, only the cards, and will this crop up during a straightforward house sale. Grateful for some advice thanks.

    Hi

You can only be forced to pay back debts that are secured on the house when you sell it.

Providing none of your creditors has secured their debt (placed a charge) aginst your house, then it is Ok. This is unlikely and you will know if they have tried to place a charg on the house as you would have been required to fill in lots of forms from the court to which they applied.

If there are defaults against these cc debts, then this MIGHT affect you when applying for a new mortgage.

You have asked this before so you must be really worried, I think you should seriously consider talking to your husband. Chances are he thinks you are hiding things if you are this worried and his imagination could be playing bigger worries than yours!

All this stressing will cause you to be ill if you are not careful and secrets always come and bite you on the bum!
