Using T***co Value vinegar for chutney?

I'm just making some chutney and the recipe calls for malt vinegar. DH went to shops for me and brought back Tesco value vinegar that doesn't say 'malt vinegar' on it. The ingedients says spirit vinegar with barley malt extract.....I just wondered if this is the same thing?

Has anyone else out there used the value vinegar for chutney and did it turn out ok?

Yes and yes! It is actually vinegar that is required, the variety (malt, wine, cider etc) is not really a concern when making chutney
