Saturday/Sunday 16th/17th August: What small DFW things will you be doing this weeken

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending .
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:
Morning everyone :wave: hope you are all well, the sun is shining & you have nice plans for the weekend
Feels autumnal here
Sorry haven't been around for a while, just so busy whith working f/t & having lo!
DFW things for today:
* check banking
* looked on ebay for 18-24 month old bundles
* all meals from stores
* have a load of veg that needs using so going to bung a curry in the SC
* load of washing & hang out
* oh sanding hallway doors finally today :T
* taking dgd to town to buy her some shoes - courtesy of db as a late birthday present :A
* pop into the pound shop & look for a lunchbag for dgd
* return library books & get a couple more
* Going to a friend's this afternoon & on to a party on the beach. Will stay until dgd starts to get tired
* do some housework!
Ok think that's my lot x

Today, I have done a meal plan for the week which is entirely eating out of the freezer so I am not going shopping for anything.
Also taking a picnic to an event tonight so I don't buy anything from the vans.
I am now debt free (just) but under threat of redundancy so need to keep up these MSE ways. Hope you don't mind me joining in.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Hello :hello:
For me today -
So far:
Sorted out sales unit, took a couple of items in to replace sold ones
Put roasted tomatoes, along with the garlic cloves and olive oil they were roasted in, through the mouli to puree them, and froze the puree. I find this is the best way to concentrate my big bowlfuls of tomatoes so that they don't take up the entire freezer. The puree can be used as puree, or as a pizza or pasta sauce, or added to stock and other veg for soup.
Cooked some plums that DD gave me yesterday, to go with breakfast yogurt.
Small amount of shopping at Lidls, didn't need much. Need a couple more items that they didn't have, so might pop to sainsburys tomorrow to pick those up. Week's shopping shouldn't come to more than about £20 in total as I have lots in already.
Did a bit of gardening this afternoon -
picked yet more tomatoes :eek:
picked and froze chillis
planted autumn potatoes
Fed and watered tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries and the quince tree.
Still to do:
Check sweetness of stewed plums and put in fridge now cold
Pick runner beans
Something simple for my tea, as OH is going out and will eat out
Off to babysit baby GD in a bit. Also need to find something to take with me to read in case she stays asleep and doesn't want to play

I have:
Checked online banking and updated budget app
Cleaned a hamster out (stinky little sod) using bulk but sawdust for substrate and toilet paper for bedding... Never buy bedding, small rodents prefer to make their own anyway. What's life without whimsy?
Remembered to defrost the beef hotpot for tomorrow's mealplan (minor miracle there)
Generally done sod all else as I'm still somewhat asthmatic after a mild cold.
But I'm giving the video editing another try at exporting after it's c*cked up twice before the laptop has to go back tomorrow
And dinner tonight is Pizza Hut for daughter (the third one that ended up free because of their weird deals) and ravioli for me (I can't face Pizza Hut twice in a row)
In our house, when things break, we just pretend they still work0 -
