It's just never ending!!

After thinking I was down to my last £1000 of debts to repay, 2 more (and according to my credit report the last 2) have crept out the woodwork. ARGH.

One is for 2101 and I've set up a repayment plan for 35 pcm to pay for this.

The last one is £343.17 - Is it worth offering a full and final on this figure or just setting up another repayment plan to clear the debt. My defaults will drop off my file in Nov 2016 so not sure the best thing to do.

Comments

  • If it defaulted years ago and has just 'crawled out of the wood work' they will probably be very happy to accept a low full &final settlement.

yeah, they are unfortunately, this one is one that I am adamant I paid off, I even remember phoning nationwide to pay the final payment, but the statement shows there is still the last payment outstanding.

What sort of figure would be a sensible full and final to offer?

If you are adamant that you remember calling to pay the debt, can you remember the date? If you can check your bank statement for around that time, you might possibly be able to prove it was paid. Companies do make mistakes sometimes.

Oh gosh no, it was back in 2010 I paid for it with my then OH's card, so have no access to a statement to prove it has been paid!
