mortgage for contractors

I recently changed my job to contracting from permanent. My re-mortgage is due early month. I am wondering how is the mortgage eligibility calculated for contractor? For permanent it was x times of your annual salary (5 times nationwide). How is it work for contractor who are working in daily rates?
