Selling short stories on amazon?

Has anyone done this?
I've found several short stories that I have written as part of my degree but they were never submitted. I've been trying to find something to do with them. I don't think they are suitable for sending to magazines because they are too long and one of them is very dark. I am currently considering selling them on amazon but I am not sure if it is worth it or how much to sell them for.

I have bought 'self published ' short stories on Amazon for my kindle, usually the first one is free and the author hopes you like them enough to pay more for future stories.
