I'll get some more quotes and hopefully will be able to get something sorted soon.
Are there any deadlines I should be aware of? eg when is the next FiT and\or Export adjustment due?

The surveyor guy was very good today - he didn't work for the company that engaged him to complete the survey so was able to offer some impartial guidance. He said I could actually get 16 panels on the roof (turns out the actual roof is a little bigger than what I said previously) and said that the canadian solar panels were very good so worth pursuing for quotes on. He spoke highly of the SMA Sunnyboy inverter and said I didn't need Solar Edge as I had no shading.

So I just need to find a company that can supply that setup and I guess I'm looking for a price of under £6.5K????

    thanks

Try aiming for sub £6k, after the many threads on this forum the one thing I have found is that prices don't vary too much like house prices do north to south.

Hiya, the current FiT rate is safe till the end of the year. It gets reviewed each qtr depending on the amount of installs. No reduction to be triggered for the Oct to Dec period (based on installs Apr to June).

Jan to Mch rate will depend on installs Jly to Sept, but regardless, if no reduction for 9 months, then an automatic 3.5% reduction kicks in anyway, which I think must therefore be due on 1/1/15, taking it to approx 13.9p.

The export rate doesn't get reduced, but does get an inflationary uplift each April.

    So no need to rush.
