It's was about an hour from our home, three hours from my parents, seven hours from oh's family and three hours from friends.

Are you sure that it's only the travel and he may be just trying to hint he prefers the other?? As others have said, 30 minutes is nothing especially if you are getting married at the same venue.

I had people flying in literally from the other side of the world.

I have 60 guests travelling from England to Northern Ireland. So trust me those who want to be there will be and those who just want a free jolly will be whittled out. Therefore it leaves the ones that you mean something to coming.

Our Church is minutes from where we live, then the reception venue is about half an hour from there. I wouldn't worry. If people care enough to be there they will find a way.

our church is about 5 minutes drive from where we live and the reception is about 200 meters from the church (so apart from a couple of elderly relatives) it would be quicker to walk between the church and venue than use a car - i fully intend to walk down the road in my wedding dress. although this is of little consequence to most of the guests we intend to invite as they are scattered across the country and a few beyond.
