Please help!

I have been sitting reading the stickies for the last hour and cannot find anything to make me feel confident of what to do.

My daughter has just come back from holiday to find a letter (dated just over a week ago) from Rossendales Collect with reference to a PCN issued by Excel Parking.

There are no details whatsoever on the letter which has come in her married name although she has been divorced for 2 years. She says she has never heard of Excel and certainly doesn't remember ever having had any letters regarding parking charges from them or anyone else.

I have had dealings with Excel in the past when they sent me a photograph of my car apparently parked in the centre of Sheffield when I had proof that I was nowhere near there on the date they mentioned, so I know they are dodgy.

My daughter has just had a baby and is in no position to try to fight this at this time (lack of sleep etc) so I'm trying to do what I can for her. Is there a template for a letter I ought to be sending or should we ignore it at this stage?

Their letter states that DD has ignored previous requests for payment (which she hasn't had) and that they intend to recover the outstanding debt immediately unless £150 is paid within 7 days. Recovery action will commence after this deadline (which has already passed). I read somewhere of someone who had people coming round and sitting outside the house, this would frighten her to death. She's also likely to panic if they start to telephone her, threatening action.

I'm sorry if the information I require is out there, but I have looked until my eyeballs are bugging and can't find it.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

What you haven't done is search the forum have you, for the word Rossendales?! Try it (searching this sub-forum only of course)!

    read this https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5035872

Then all the recent threads about this boring letter chain of nothingness we've had to reply to this week, so many that it forced me to start that second thread!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you. I knew it would make somebody tut and sigh but I could not find what I needed, which was a template for a letter. This will do nicely.

You know all about these things obviously, but for the 'ignorant' mortal such as myself, all the acronyms are very confusing and it really is quite frightening not knowing how to deal with the problem effectively.

    Anyway, thanks again :)
