Blackberries and Alcohol

Just been reading a thread about what you can do with loads of blackberries.
I have just picked about 2 kilos from the yard at work and this got me thinking . . If I were to use them in alcohol - to make a syrup and add to vokda etc to flavour or add whole to some booze so boozy whole fruit and fruity booze.
If the later, which I admit appeals more - how to do it, bottles jars . . please let me know any ideas, recipies, tried and tested or just out there !!
Thanks :T

When I do Sloe Gin I use the Parfait Jars from Lakeland, adding the sloes, gin and sugar and turn gently every few days until the sugar has dissolved, then leave for about 3 months at least. I have read on this forum of people using other fruits and spirits - blackberry and vodka being one of them. If you start it off now it should just be ready for Christmas! Hi, I too have been looking around for stuff to do with blackberries. I think its the turn in the weather that's making me think of cold winter nights. My friend makes blackberry brandy which is yummy so that's what i'm going to try. I think it's a third of a bottle of blackberries washed/cleaned and the same weight of sugar put them in a clean bottle (one with a screw top lid) and top up with brandy.(any cheap brandy will do) Keep somewhere dark and shake once a week for at least 8 weeks. Then I was going to decant into little bottles to use as Christmas prezzies then a big one all for myselfJan NSD 3/31

I made Blackberry Whisky last year and it was lovely.

I start with half the amount of sugar and add more to taste because I don't like a final result that's too sweet.0 -
