Highview Parking Charge cancelled in 24hrs - that was easy!

Options
A local carpark was previously managed by ParkingEye and used to allow 2 hours free parking. It appears that it recently changed to Highview and they cut the free time to 90 mins. Naturally I didn't read the signs and continued to assume it was 2 hours.

So I got a PCN for staying in the carpark for 12 min too long.
I am pleased to say that I emailed Highview the initial appeal letter on the Newbie sticky and got a reply from Highview less than 24 hours later cancelling the charge.

Thanks for all the info - can't believe I nearly paid the £50 they were asking for!

I smell haddock, it may well be that this reduction has not been agreed with the Council. A short note to the Planning Department would not come amiss.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • We had a letter with photos, of our car allegedly parked up for 4 hours in a retail car park. In fact I had dropped my son off for work, and collected him again four hours later! I was in the car park barely 5 minutes both times. The letter told me I was being fined £85 for fours hours total parking. The photos in the letter showed the car in motion, so I wasn't even parked up! I know for a fact the car was not in the car park for 4 full hours! I'm so glad we looked this up on MSE. I was going to appeal anyway, and ask for photos of my car for every hour they claimed I was parked, but don't think I'll waste my time now. Just want others to know these people have manufactured this parking offence. Please don't give them any money, and tell everyone you know that this is going on, and is a scam.

You should appeal to kill it off. See the top thread on the parking forum.

I don't know which threads you read on MSE but it can't have been the Newbie thread at the top of the forum if after reading you have decided not to appeal. We NEVER advise people to ignore the NTKs like this.
