Yup the same here I live alone and if I see a box, especially if its reduced then I buy them and use what I need fresh and the rest I peel slice and freeze so I always have mushrooms for stews, casseroles etc.I also peel and dice onions and freeze.I have a couple of lock'n'lock boxes in my freezer so no smells get transferred to other foods.
My freezer is my best friend and saves me pounds in left over bits from when I make a lasagne. I always have several portions left over which go into rectangular take away boes for freezing once cold .A quick whizz in the microwave and its instant dinner in the evening.

They don't defrost very good if you wanted to eat them with say your bacon & egg, but there're ok if you were putting them on say a pizza.

I don't freeze them raw - but cooked, they come out and heat up just fine!

Ive frozen mushrooms many a time. They are fine, just not as firm when defrosted.
