Help! Mortgage after an IVA

Options
I was hoping anyone can help me.

I have completed my IVA and am now in a position where i need to remortgage (a relatively low amount) but the two banks i have been to have refused due to having had an IVA, nothing to do with my credit which they both said is now no problem.

Does anyone know any REPUTABLE companies that I could possibly get a mortgage with?

thanks

  • You need to speak with a broker, preferably one who specialises in adverse credit.

There might be a lender for this, but it's very, very unlikely that you'd be able to access them directly.

    What does 'reputable' mean?

  • I stopped paying over a year ago but only got the actual completion documents form them a few months ago :/

"reputable" in that they are not loan sharks!

I think with an IVA that has just finished, it's a case of 'will' anyone accept you rather than 'who' will accept you.

One not fined by a regulator for some form of misbehaviour?

Not a long list for that, then. ;)

Well done for completing the IVA !

You will need at least 25% of the purchase price in cash and find a whole of market broker who has placed an ex-iva'er in the last 6-12 months.

Stay off the High Street as the computer will say no.

    Good luck
