OK, an update. I've written to KPR and reiterated the offer.
I have just received responses from Metropolitan, akinika and Santander.
akinika says they will not accept my offer but will accept £6419.46 in settlement of £7552.31. They will closed the account and flag as partial. If not in their hands in 14 days the full balance will stand and no further offers will be made. If not able to pay £6419 they want a full breakdown of income and expenditure in order to determine a suitable monthly repayment to discharge the debt.
As for Metropolitan and Santander, they both request details of income and expenditure and details of debts with other companies. Santander also wants to know the source of my funds and whether my £1 payments would continue if they do not accept my offer.
Question is now what to do about both these areas?0 -
I should also add that I have not heard back from Mercers (Barclaycard) yet.0

Barclaycard would not answer my letters either, I did pay a full and final but (reluctantly) agreed it over the phone, it was for less than £450, I paid 80% of that. It made me nervous as I have never had it in writing that the debt is cleared, but I have heard nothing from them in 16 months.ISA £1675

Akinika - What was this debt for? Didn't see it mentioned in earlier posts?
Not much of a discount. As for their no further offers...they are very likely to offer this or better in the future.
Asking fro I and E is pretty standard. before accepting say 25%, they want to know they can't screw you for more.
I would let then stew for a bit or re-iterate your offer.
Metropolitan and Santander - Tell them the funds are from a relative and strictly time limited.
I would only send an I and E form if you shown you can't pay anything or a really low payment.:beer:0 -

akinika is Halifax credit card. So you think not even send income and expenditure. Truth is, they already have this and I am paying £1 / month.0
