Tesco Mortgage

Hi, currently applying for a Tesco Mortgage, had a 2hr+ telephone conversation with their advisor with all the usual checks, has been sent to the underwriter which is pretty normal BUT they haven't requested any documents such as payslips and bank statements to be sent to the underwriter with application. I thought the underwriter needs this info to make a decision??
Is this unusual?
Thanks,
KH

Perhaps you are not at full application stage yet.

Yes, they mentioned the clubcard points if we were successful!
I thought they would only send to underwriters when it's a full application??0 -
I guess after over two hours of your life you might expect that it is at full application.

Can't comment directly on Tesco but I have had cases in which income & ID has been verified electronically and I've had to send very little in the way of proofs (these excluded), perhaps one month bank statement.
You'll likely find you have a letter before the end of the week requesting documents if Tesco finance are comparable to other lenders0 -
