I'm just looking some info on this, I'm moving dentist soon and wondering what the etiquette was?

Do I need to inform my previous dentist or anything?

You don't HAVE to - but if you've been going a while, and got on well with him/her - it would probably be nice to.

Obviously - if you have any future appointments, you would need to cancel them.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Daughter and her family recently changed dentists as her previous one left both her children (and her husband) dreading a visit. It was just a case of finding a new dentist willing to accept them which in their case was easy as a new practice had opened in their town.No need to inform old dentist.just produce your medical card.

Nope no need. I thought they'd send off your previous files etc but they don't.

I changed when moving and all they needed was my medical card no which you can get from your Dr if needed.

Then just call your old dentist and tell them you no longer need them.
