Have you pre-ordered Harry Potter book from Tesco.com?

Tesco's are now offering free delivery code XXJKR but only on new orders. The only way to get the free delivery is to put in a new order. I phoned customer services to complain that this was poor treatment of customers who have pre-ordered but made no progress :wall: .
I have re-ordered and then cancelled the existing one. I wonder how many people are going to assume they are getting the best price because it was offered as the guaranteed cheapest price on the day of delivery when in fact they will be paying £2.74 for delivery that is now being offered free? Hopefully no-one off here

Found this on the royal mail website (updated today):
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has announced a 24 hour strike in Northern Ireland only, starting at 7pm on Sunday July 22nd and continuing through Monday July 23rd.
The position regarding further strike action in the rest of the UK is unclear.
The CWU must give at least seven days notice of any further actionDebt at lightbulb moment (Dec 06) £60,502

I ordered mine from Amazon and got free delivery as I ordered OH's birthday present at the same time, even though that was delivered in June.
I would be so mad if there was a strike on saturday morning. I will be waiting to accost the postman on saturday as both my children want to read the book too and I need to get there first!!
My eight year old daughter just discovered the books a couple of months ago and just finished the Half Blood Prince yesterday. Since then I have had incessant questions about what might happen. She is also trying to persuade me to drive to Waterstones for 11pm for their Harry Potter party!
In fact we are both in a state of high excitement...OH thinks we are both completely mental!0 -
I think I would too if I had so many stores close by. I live about 30 mins away from anywhere that would have them. Enjoy reading it!Debt at lightbulb moment (Dec 06) £60,502

You do have to watch this, I ordered a bunch of books from Amazon and had to wait a few weeks because I'd chosen 1 parcel to make it cheaper and one book was out of stock.
During that time I noticed a lot of the books I'd ordered were a lot cheaper in price - but they hadn't updated my order! I had to cancel the order and order them again to get the cheaper price.0 -

I wouldn't be able to resist. I have waited 2 years, I am not waiting one moment longer! I break up from school on Friday and DH knows i am doing nothing on Saturday until I have read the whole thing. Will not turn on the TV or interent or answer the phone or anything in case someone gives away the plot.
I read in our local newspaper today that more children in the north east (where the survey was done) were looking forward to the new HP book than their holidays.0 -
welll happy reading all :j0
