Halifax and defaults hmmm

Options
well this could be a long one,

basically both myself and my husband are FTB's we have three children and are both full time employed, i have recently started a new job after having a baby and my husband has been in the army for 12 years.

we initially went to get a DIP with Nationwide and were turned down, so with advice from forces homes broker have gone through Halifax and were accepted for DIP at 85%. today we have had an offer accepted on a house (exciting times) however i'm a born worrier and My husband has a default on his credit file on experian last year for three mobile. we did tell our broker this and im hoping she informed them at DIP, now as i understand it the soft check has been done as it showing as lloyds group on my credit file but im lead to believe they only see a score and cannot see defaults until a hard check is done.

i think my main concern here is, like others i have read that our application will be turned down and it will all fall through, if that is the case then we would have to wait another 5 years until my husbands file was clear.
i have done plenty of research with obvious negative answers but im hoping someone will have some positive information for me to help clear my mind a bit!

thanks a lot!!!
