Free to change mortgage provider, but may move house in 7/8 months

Hi
I'm looking for a little bit of advice.

I have come to the end of a fixed-term mortgage with Santander. I'm now free to re-mortgage with another provider. I have £39000 outstanding on a home worth £100000, possibly a bit more- not had a recent valuation. Either way, 60% equity at least. I would re-mortgage with repayments over 15 years, with the option of overpaying monthly.

I aim to put my current property on the market in Feb 2015. My question is, what are your opinions about what I should do in the interim? I like the no tie-in of HSBC's tracker mortgage currently at 2.49%, no fees or early redemption fee... but should I not discount fixed mortgages available at this time, that can be ported to another property in the future?

Look forward to your input!
