How to get information from ross & roberts

Hi I have a debt with Ross & Roberts with 1 final payment left. I have phoned them today asking if they can give me some details as by my records I don't have as much to pay as they are telling me. I asked if they could tell me over the phone or at least email with a summary of my account so I can check the details. Was told they didn't have the information and they would have to post it to me.
Have 2 things I wondered if anyone could help me with

1. who has my information if a phone call to the company can not get me any more details other than end balance, they would not even give me a starting balance.

2. my last payment should be on 14th and don't know if I should pay it as I think its wrong because by my reckoning I have overpaid by £98.

I want to get this account and balance closed but can ill afford to make any more payments that I would no doubt have trouble getting back if I am right.

Any help or advice greatfully recieved

Simply write to them asking for a full statement of the account including a breakdown of all transactions applied to the account since they took it over, send recorded delivery.
You should not speak to these people on the phone, as they are only the monkeys, when you really need to speak to the organ grinder.
A written request should get you the required information, if not, complain to the FOS, and with hold the last payment until the situation has been clarified.

You have a right to a statement of account.

If they refuse, complain, in writing. That will give them something to do...
