Do I really need the Juicer?
I recently bought the Kenwood Chef KMC010 the machine included a blender attachment which I’ve found very useful.
I’m now thinking of a juicer but was put off by an acquaintance who suggested that a simple nut milk filter bag is sufficient to separate the fibre from the juice. Yet do a Google and the advice seems to be you definatey need both if you want to get all the benefits that juicing provides.
Any Money Savers ever tried using a filter to seperate the juice from the fibre?

Oh NO! not another gadget? NO you do not need one. Just eat your fruit and veg.The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0

I found it to be a total waste of money...firstly it makes tiny amounts of juice out of all of that fruit and veg that you could have turned into a proper meal and you lose the goodness of the fibre...secondly it is a pain to clean as the pulp gets into any tiny nook or cranny and if it dries then good luck getting it out again.0

centrifugal juicers are a pain to clean and don't extract all of the juice. 'Grinding' juicers are much more efficient but a great deal more expensive.
Straining fibre from juice would be perfectly possible but might take a while. Does the person who suggested it to you do it themselves so that they can demonstrate it to you?0 -
I do have an attachment for centrifugal juicing but I would have to be doing a large amount to make the cleaning up worthwhile. I also have a little Kenwood triblade with a liquidizer attachment and this morning I tried for the first time some washing spinach, blueberries and half a banana with a little water and it was quite pleasant, enough for two really so this would be a great way of ensuring you get your five a day.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14
