I have a royalmail redirect in place and the really important letters have not been redirected..... sods law
So, don't waste your time and pennies with it. Just put the effort in updating companies/orgs that have your address when you move!!
Has anyone used http://www.iammoving.com/ ? Good idea but often you need to confirm final bills etc when you move and I'm not sure this website facilitates this. Has anyone used it? Does it work?

Over the years, I’ve set up a mail merge facility to update all and sundry when I am moving house. Anytime I go on a new mailing list, I add their details in. Net result is that I just hit the print button when I want to move, and all the details get printed out.
I’ve used this in conjunction with RM redirect, as belt and braces, and it seems to work quite well, so long as you give Royal Mail the required notice.
The problem with iammoving is that it covers relatively few organisations, but probably worth checking out also.

Im currently using RM redirect and seems to be working fine, although it does take a few days rather than "next working day" as they stated. but none of the mails seem to be going to my old address which is a relief, tho whether they're actually redirecting EVERYTHING and not forgotten in their depot is another matter.0

using it here and working perfect too.......0

Fine for me too.
Just forgot to redirect the company mail for a while and that has been all we've received that went to our old house.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

You have to make sure that all formats of your names are added i.e., JacquThere are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.0

Worked for me twice. Hasn't worked for 2 other people I know. So it clearly depends on the people in that particular sorting office.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

The vast majority do work. If it is not working you will have yourself to blame trying to be too clever.0 -
Worked well for us too.
Only had a few things go missing and a quick phone call to complain meant it got logged somewhere as a stat when things when wrong.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

What do you mean by this?
All you do is but your surname on the form and allow for all variations of your firstname to be delivered to your new address. Then if the sorting office can't separate your mail for some reason it gets sent to your old address. It's not your fault if this happens.
However while you are using the service you are suppose to inform banks, credit card companies, magazines etc that you have moved and ask them to change your address asap. That means within 6 months the only mail you should be getting that has been redirected is either from people you don't particularly like, people who rarely write to you or junk.
iammoving is suppose to be a short cut way of you writing to organisations. It's quicker to send them a standard letter yourself.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
