Not sure if this is the correct Forum for this but I thought I would offer it out anyhow.
Just wanted to know if anyone had experienced this sort of lower back pain before. I can play a 5 a side football match (twisting/turning, stretching, running) for an hour and get no back pain whatsoever. Then I sit on a sofa and lean forward with say a leg tucked under me and kapow -a sudden shot of stabbing pain in my lower back for maybe a second or 2. I stand up walk about for a bit then i'm fine again, then ill sit again and maybe sit up right and bang there it is again. No lingering pain, no pain elsewhere, just a sudden shot of worrying nerve type pain for a second or two and then it's gone as quickly as it arrived. I can walk and run fine with no pain and can sit most of the time fine. Weird hey! Its been going on for about a month now and I think what started it was that i bent down to pick something up from the floor and i felt it, though nothing lingered and i just carried on as normal. I'm 41, male and in fairly good shape. I'd be grateful for any advice anyone could offer out there, thanks so much.

The forum doesn't allow medical stuff like this. No-one can diagnose you over the internet. Best advice is to go to your doctor.0

Doctor, doctor, it hurts when I do this!
Dr: Then stop doing it!0 -
Sounds like regular back pain to me- I wont give advice because we are not supposed to on here but will say that lower back pain like the type you've mentioned is the most common type of back pain and the best route out is to strengthen the area so your back isn't taking all the strain. You can get specific advice on how to do that via your GP or a physiotherapist or even a qualified gym instructor.0
