Free Apps for IPad / IPhone

Options
Hello, forgive me if this is in the wrong part of the Forum. We had IPads rolled out at work last year and the folks from Apple came to train us on them. One app that they recommended was 'appsgonefree.' I have been using it for a year now and recommend it for freebies. Each evening they choose several apps that have gone free in the App Store for the next 24hrs. They do try to please everyone and so some evenings their are apps for everything from grocery shopping and vouchers or shopping budget planners to training on your bike or some good games but other times nothing will apply to you. Once again forgive me if this is the wrong place for this post.

  • Yeah I've been using it for a while and it's very good, the daily apps come on at about 5/5:30pm.

Can we have a little more information please?

    1) do you get notified by email what the free apps are?

    2) if so, could we have a link to sign up?

    3) if not and you have to seek them out yourself, could we have a reliable link please?

    thanks

    Hello,

I do not think that I am allowed to post links yet but I can explain how to get it for you (hopefully):

    1) go to App Store
    2) search for 'AppsGoneFree.'
    3) it is a free app - download it.
    4) you will then get a message asking if you wish to receive notifications. This will let you know when the set of free apps available for you for that day are there for your perusal.
    5) alternatively, just have a look around 6pm in the evening.
    6) offers tend to expire after 24hrs - and just to state the obvious, all apps are free but may offer in app purchases which you can turn off in your settings on your iPhone / IPad.

    Hopefully this helps x

I did all the things you say, via my laptop, simply because it was easier.

    1) go to App Store DONE THAT

    2) search for 'AppsGoneFree.'DONE THAT

    3) it is a free app - download it.DONE THAT

    4) you will then get a message asking if you wish to receive notifications. DID NOT GET MESSAGE

This will let you know when the set of free apps available for you for that day are there for your perusal.
    5) alternatively, just have a look around 6pm in the evening. LOOK ROUND WHERE? THE ITUNES WEBSITE?

Sorry to be a pain in the asre, but I need to understand this.

I forgot to say I turned ipad on and in an email, was informed that it had gone ahead, but no little icon/app has arrived.

Hello and no problem at all, I appreciate how frustrating this can be!

    1) go the 'settings' on your Computer.
    2) scroll down to and click on 'notification centre.'
    3) look to your right and selects the 'appsgonefree' icon.
    4) you can then choose the type of notification that you wish to be sent.

Alternatively, go onto the app at 6pm as it should have downloaded the free apps for you from the App Store.

    Good Luck!

please stay around while I do this.

no luck yet. I use chrome. I click on the three bars top right, scroll down to settings. Click on settings on the left. Can't see anything like you suggest, only "ask where to save each file before download which is unchecked, and show notification when new printer is connected, which is checked.

DONE IT! NO, that wasn't it UGH!

Just to check, are you using an IPad? The settings icon on your IPad is separate to Chrome and should be on your home screen? It looks like silver cogs.
