Cleaning survival kit for son

We are leaving DS age 16, alone for a week next week.
I want to leave him a simple but effective cleaning kit so that he can (hopefully) deal with any mess he makes and not leave it for me to deal with when I come home.
Also want to leave him a list of instructions re dishwasher washing machine etc.
Any sugestions,
Thanks.

In a week alone he'll probably only need to use the dishwasher and washing machine once, so I would probably leave it set ready just to be switched on with the powder etc in.

Bottle of stardrops and a few cloths will deal with most things, can be used watered down for general cleaning etc and can be used as washing up liquid. I use it on the loo aswell with a less frequent bleach or loo cleaner clean.
One day I might be more organised...........

Not at all :o but I dont want the him using the excuse that he doesnt know where anything is. I expect him to be able to deal with any spills and otherwise that he or his mates may produce. So dedinately a big bottle of vinegar and a tub of bicarb is on the list.

Stardrops is a definate for all round cleaning, best not to complicate things for him.

Disposable clothes as well I can imagine coming home to a pile of stinking dish/ floor cloths.

    That should be disposable cloths.

You might want to leave instructions for the oven too - my brother once tried to cook a frozen chicken pie at 180 deg F not 180 deg C!!! Surprised he didn't get food poisoning!

Some 1001 carpet stain remover - it deals with almost any stains that he might get on the carpet! Also, would some liquitabs or powder tablets encourage him to do some laundry?

not old style or moneysaving i know, but why not just get him some surface wipes. they are not too dear if you get shops own brand and it will be easier than leaving him a bottle of stardrops. tbh with most cleaning products, more harm than good can be done by a novice.

Off subject slightly but just wanted to say I'd be afraid to leave my lad in the house for that long, but he would cope. Often puts on washing if he needs something specific, can cook and has followed Sam Sterns recipe books when he's been hungry (poor lad). Even came home today and told me he'd ripped the seam open on his trousers playing footie and bless him the love, he just sat and sewed them up and made a very good job of it. Oh and does all his own ironing. He's 15 on wednesday.
