1930s internal doors URGENT

Options
Hi,

I am having building work done on my home and have been trying to source original 1920-30s 4 panel doors (1 panel top, 3 below). I need to get some as soon as possible as we will be fitting door frames soon.

I have tried the usual reclamation companies in Belfast, Armagh, Derry but I am having very little luck.

Ideally I need 5 from the same property so they are easier to fit, have similar dimensions and look the same.

If anyone out there knows of a property near them that would have this type of door and it being gutted could you please send me a private message.

Any other help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,
C

Thanks. Tried Wilsons. They had 4 but the work involved to get them back to a decent quality is too much. Water ingress. What/where is Archsal?

Some doors on ebay, if that is any use.

Hi Whitewing. Had a look through eBay. There are a good few doors but none local. After looking at a few already there can be a lot if issues with them. I would really need to see them in person.

    Archsal ... Architectural salvalge
There's literally dozens of local salvage places & even more in the south. Depends how much time effort you're willing to put in for the right results
  • Ah. That makes sense. Already spent a fair bit of time and money trying to source items but I suppose, if that's what it takes :-)

I had no luck sourcing this original type of door and ended up buying new from the door store. Of course, the wood is never going to have the character that original ones have, although I've found them to be a great compromise. HTH

Things that annoy me, No.107: People that replace the word 'Bought' with 'Brought'. It makes NO sense!

Shouldn't that be 'People WHO replace.....'

Try Gumtree, we got 4 doors there recently. We went around all the local salvage yards and found nothing, although you can get them shipped from ebay. Then a year later 4 appeared for next to nothing on Gumtree.

Also, try barewood. They do salvage as well and often have spare doors.
