Hi peeps, did you know that twitter limits following up to 2,000 follows.

    It is generally believed that you can follow 2,000 (sometimes 2,001) or the number of followers you have plus 10%, whichever is the higher figure.

    If the 2,000 limit is a problem just open another account and so on (apparently multiple twitter accounts are permitted, you just need a different e-mail address for each of them), remember not to enter the same comp from different accounts as that may break the comp T&C's

    alternatively go to manageflitter.com & you can remove inactive accounts - it's surprising how many seem to run a comp & then disappear

    Eighth Anniversary 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker
    I keep a little note now of end dates of comps, and tend to unfollow a few weeks after the comp has ended. Sounds laborious, but is quicker than going through a list of 2,000 follow-ees and trying to work out how old each one is.

    I use manageflitter.com too.

    You can put the people you follow in order of how much they tweet or when you started following them or fake/spam accounts to help you decide who to get rid of.
