You shouldn't be cooking with quorn or eating it... Just use beans or tofu or mushrooms for the vegetarians/vegans (beans or tofu can be added towards the end of the cooking, when the sauce is done and mushrooms will need to be cooked after you saut! the onion and before you start adding tomatoes etc) or proper lean lamb or turkey for meat eaters. Quorn is highly processed stuff that often contains aluminium (due to the manufacturing process) and some additives that have a negative impact on our health by increasing toxic overload on liver (this is just the simplest way to explain complications...).

Oh dear its a wonder its still on sale, I was advised that they ate quorn, thanks for the tips and I will ensure that I do not enter into a debate on whether they should eat quorn, I will leave that to their own judgement.

Does anyone have links to evidence that Quorn isn't heathy? I always thought it was a healthy, convenient, low fat food, largely based on evidence from the Quorn company :o

    I am interested now....

  • If I'm using frozen I pre-fry it with fridge Quorn if I'm making a sauce from scratch I would do the sauce and then add the Quorn as I cook tomato for a long time off the flavor. If I was using a cook in sauce I'd pre fry the Quorn slightly.
