Unrecognised Default on CF - how do we remove?

Hi Guys

I have seen a new entry on my credit file by Cabot Financial, I don't recognise this. Please could you advise how I can get it taken off my credit file?

Thanks!

I would write to cabot - the address should be on your credit file. State that you have noticed the entry from them and have no knowledge of any debt owed to them. State that you require them to remove the entry or provide you with proof of the alleged debt. Failure to do so will mean you will complaint to the ICO.

You may also want to inform the credit reference agency that you believe this is incorrect and they should also contact cabot on your behalf.

Not really, you could use probably use parts of the prove it letter, but that is really to cover when someone is chasing you for a debt.
Letter when you know nothing about about the debt - AKA "Prove it" letter
