At what stage is the booking fee payable?

Is there a charge to put this on credit card?

    We will just pay with debit card then!

    Can I just clarify- we plan on applying online. Would we pay when we do this application or after it has actually be accepted?

    Its a booking fee, so you pay to book the deal - its paid on application and will be non refundable if they decline the application I would imagine.
