Future Mortgage

I have recently been in an IVA which started in April 2009 i paid it off in a F & F settlement in 2012 and received a Notice of Completion on December 2013 though i still have to wait until 30th May 2015 for all defaults to drop off.
In July of this year i sold my house and made £16k which is currently sitting in the bank waiting for next year when my credit file updates with all defaults removed so as to enhance my chance of acceptance though my issue is that i have had missed mortgage payment periods since taking the mortgage back in 2008 though nothing over the last 2 years.
My missed payments were Month 26 to 39 (Peak of 4 missed payments)
Month 48-55 (Peak of 3 missed payment)
These was due to a relationship breakdown whereby i was left to cover everything and obviously struggled on my current wage at the time but eventually managed to get on top of things.
All my other credits i.e. Catalogue, CC, Car finance (Paid off) have been run in good order with no missed payments.
Im really after advice on the probability of getting a mortgage with my previous history and what i could do to better my chances.
Im currently in full time employment with a basic salary of £49k but with overtime earn close to £60k per annum, and as previously mentioned i currently have £16k in the bank.
Apologies for the in-depth info but i felt it best to reveal all in order to receive the best advice.
Thank you in advance.
