Those sewing grids at school?

Can anyone help me with where to buy those square grid things that we used to use at school to learn to sew?
They were fabric, open-weave squares or rectangles I think, with lots of holes in the grid to practice stitching.
Do these still exist?
Thanks in advance

Are you thinking of Aida cloth - several pics on Wikipedia if you search it. That's what we used in first school, around the last time my stitches were ever neat!0

Yes that's exactly it! Thank you so much!! Xx0 -
Aida tends to be a bit small for little kids to learn. The size numbers refer to holes per inch, so the lower the number the bigger the holes.
Binca is the the stuff you mean, which is like aida but bigger. I managed to buy some the other year in hobbycraft, but most craft/sewing shops will sell itZebras rock0 -
We use Binca at school, but get it through a school supplier.

Gosh that takes me back! My mum still has the square I made with all the different stitches. I was so proud because I was the first in the class to finish mine which meant I could start on a bigger project - more binca, lined with fabric and then made into a foldover 'purse'. Not sure where that ended up. The next thing would have been a gingham apron but we ran out of school year. Happy days."Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

Aida is what you are looking for. You can get aida and binca from ebay

I made one at school with lots of different coloured embroidery/sewing stitches, it was used as a pencil case.
